Smallholder Farmers’ Perception and Adaptation to Climate Change in Kurmuk District, Ethiopia

Ethiopia is among the countries experiencing frequent drought and highly vulnerable to climate change associated impacts. Adaptation impacts are key element for sustainable development of economy. The objective study was analysis determinates smallholder farmer’s perception adaptation options in Kurmuk district. For both primary secondary data sources were employed. collected from 160 randomly selected sample households. binary logit multinomial model employed identify factor that determines farmers’ strategies respectively. Results revealed sex, extension service, credit access, information distance market significantly affects kurmuk district, While, education, cultivated land, access services, information, market, farm, off-farm income on-farm found statistically significant affected farmers. Therefore, strengthening disseminating diversification recommendable mechanisms advance their change.
